Cultism has its deep root from time immemorial. That is why there is hardly any society today that is free of cultism or cult group activity. The activity of cultist in Nigeria is prevalence to the point that as luck down prevention continue from government angle, people in the society can no longer sleep comfortably due to fear of 1million boys. Cultists have turned some campuses into something entirely different, instead of justice; there is survival of the fittest. There are intimidation, tortures and murders, morality seems to have gone to zero degrees, and academic pursuit which is supposed to be of primary importance has been relegated to secondary priority.
Causes of Cultism
There are many reasons why people are into cultism among which are;
- The search for security
- The search for social identity
- The search for satisfaction of one’s aspiration and needs

Solution to cultism
- The Government: Government has to be responsible. Because corruption start from the top and pollute the bottom.
- Parents: parents have a very big part to play inculcating morality in their children because cultist exits in secondary school and successful parenting requires courage and parents should be close to their children.
- Religious organization: Religious organizations have their role to play. Churches and mosques should organize programmes to sensitize children about the evils of cultism.
- The Students: Students too should note that it is hard work before pleasure and face their studies with all concentration, let them preoccupy themselves in religious activities such as Christian Association and Muslim Students society on Campus where they can grow spiritually, so that they will not succumb to peer pressure.
