Good day class. Welcome back to online class. Hope you’re ready for your exam. The Lord will crown your effort with success in Jesus name. Today, we will review Paul and Peter ‘s teaching on family (Col 3:18-21,1Peter 3:1-7).
Every member of the family has a duty. Paul advised wives to be subject to their husbands as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands should in turn love their wives. Children should obey their parents in everything and fathers should not provoke their children so that they might not be discouraged.
Peter in addition advised wives to be submissive to their husbands and they are to refrain from undue outward decoration but to exhibit a lifestyle characterized by the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable jewel of a gentle and quiet spirit which is precious in God’s sight. The husband should treat the wife with tenderness.
Ways to practice an ideal Christian
family
1.The wife should obey the husband and co-operate with him for the good of the family.
2.The husband should look after the wife and try to understand her by being patient with her.
3.The father should refrain from asking the children to do things contrary to the Will of God.
4.Children should show their obedience to their parents by cooperating with them in the smooth running of the home

Good day class. Welcome to class. Today we will be revising Paul’s teaching on dignity of labour (2 Thessalonians 3:6-15, Colossian 3:23-25)
Paul tried to correct the wrong belief that the end of the world was at hand in his teaching to the Thessalonians which made them give up their normal employment. They even discouraged those engage in their occupation to lean on the church for their upkeep. Paul ,in discouraging such attitude to work, he adviced the Thessalonians to keep away from any member of the church Who live in idleness.
Paul reminded them of his own hard work while in Thessalonica, when he toiled day and night without being a burden to anyone. This was opposed to the idle members who felt that the church should support them in their idleness. Paul made it clear that his own example of hard work was for them to emulate. According to Paul, if anyone will not work, let him not eat.
He appealed to the idle members who he called busy bodies to do their work in quietness and earn their own living. He directed the church that those who might decide to remain idle should be avoided in order to put them to shame but they should not be seen as enemies but should be warned as brother.

Good day class.Welcome to class today.Today,we will review the topic, Christian giving (Phillipians 4: 14-20)
Paul expressed his gratitude to the Phillipian church for their gifts to him, both as a prisoner in Rome and at Thessalonica. He appreciated them for the kindness shown to him.He told them they were the first people with whom he entered into partnership of giving and receiving. He described the gift sent through Epaphroditus as a fragrance offering, a sacrifice acceptance and pleasing to God and prayed that their gifts be rewarded by God.Paul in his letter to the Corinthians, stated that it is the responsibility of every Christian to give and share with others. He had boasted about the Corinthians of their willingness to send gifts to the saints. He therefore, wrote to the church in Corinth ahead for them to prepare their offering before his coming to the Macedonians. He made them realized that their failure to live up to expectation on his arrival would amount to humiliation. He advised them that the gift was should be from free mind not on compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. He who sows bountifully, will reap bountifully and he who sows sparingly will reap sparingly.
Giving can be done through these ways
1.Financial and material donations for the upkeep of the church and for spreading the gospel.
2.Giving to members of the society who are less priviledged, old people etc.
3.Providing social amenities

Good day class. Hope you’re keeping safe. Today, we will be revising the topic spiritual gifts (1 Corinthians 12:1-31,14:1-40).
Paul’s teaching on spiritual gifts was aimed at making christians recognize their various spiritual gifts, as gifts from one source, which must be used for the edification of the church rather for self gratification. The gifts are nine in all. They are utterance of wisdom, utterance of knowledge, faith, healing, working miracles, prophecy, distinguishing between spirit, speaking in tongues, and interpretation of tongues .Paul pointed out that all these gifts were given by the same spirit. He stated that the various spiritual gifts perform different functions as we have in human body with different parts. As foot cannot say because I am not a hand, I don’t belong to the body. If the whole body were an eye, where would be hearing? God arranged all human body parts as important and no part is superior or inferior to one another. Christians are the body of Christ made up of individual members and are gifted with various spiritual gifts with which different functions are performed either as apostle s, teachers, workers of miracles, healers, helpers, administrator s, speakers in various tongue . They should use it for the building of church since no single person can posses all the gifts at the same time.

Good day class. Today we will be revising paul’s teaching on forgiveness Philemon 1, 2 Cori tthian 2:5-11.
Paul illustrated forgiveness with the case of Onesimus. Onesimus was a run away servant of Philemon. While he was in Rome, he came across Paul who was then in prison and was converted by Paul. He became a useful servants to Paul. Paul wrote a letter of appeal to Philemon to take back onesimus Who was formerly useless to him. It was the wish of Paul to retain onesimus to serve him, but needed to first of all return him to his master Who might not only forgive him but grant his desire to retain him out of free will, not by compulsion.
Paul advised Philemon to take onesimus back not as a slave but as brother in Christ. He promised to pay whatever onesimus had owed his master and urged Philemon to receive onesimus as he would have received him as partners in the the Lord.

Good day class. Welcome back to class. Today, we will revise Paul and Peter ‘s teaching on humility. (Philippians 2:1-11,1 Peter5:5-11)
Paul emphasized that humility should be a Christian virtue. He encouraged the Christians to avoid selfishness or conceit, but to count others better than themselves. To illustrate the meaning of humility,he cited Jesus who was in the form of God, humbled himself by accepting to take human form and died on the cross for the sake of man. As a result, God exalted him and gave him a name above every other name that at his name every knee should bow in heaven, on earth and under the earth.
Peter on the other hand instructed younger Christian to be subject to the elders. They were to clothe themselves with humility for God resists the pride and gives grace to the humble. They should cast and anxieties on God who cares about them and be watchful, ready to combat the actions of the devil, their enemy.

Good day class. welcome to crs revision class .I got only Feyikemi’s response .TODAY, we will be talking about new life in Christ (Romans 6:1-4,6:12 – 14 ,Colossians 3:1-17)
According to Paul ,as a person been raised with C hrist one’s mind should be set on things above. People should depart from all sinful practices .They should put on the new nature which is renewed after his creator .We should have compassion ,kindness ,meekness ,and patience .We should forebear one another and forgive one another .We should put on love which binds everything together. WE should allow the peace of Christ to rule their hearts. We should teach and admonish one another in all wisdom. We should be thankful always and allow the word of Christ to dwell in them richly. He advised that Christians should sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs with thanksfullness and whatever is done in word or deed should be done in the name of our Lord Jesus.
Things a Christian can do to manifest new life in Christ
- Living a life worthy of Christ
- Being involved in the preaching and spreading of the gospel
- Rendering services in the church
- Making financial contributions for church development
- Having a positive attitude to work
Christians as the children of God (Gal 3 ;25- 29,4;1-7 )
Paul proved that Christians are children of God by teaching with the advent of faith,Christians are no longer under custodian i.e the law.We are sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus .Our baptism means putting on Christ , in Christ Jesus there is no discrimination (neither Jew nor Greek neither male nor female, neither slave nor free-born.If we are Christ ‘s,then we are Abraham’s children. We become heirs according to the promise. The heir can be compared to a slave who though owns estate but could not exercise control being under a guardian. Before our sonship, we were slaves to the spiritual elements. But at the time set, God sent his son born of awoman, born under the law to redeem those who were under the law. Thereby ,enabling us to receive adoption as sons. When we become sons ,we receive the spirit of his son in our heart to call Abba Father. So through God we are no longer slaves but sons, and if sons then an heir.
Ways to show we are true children of God
- Utterly rejecting satan
- Living Christ like lives and growing daily in the spiritual life
- Fulfilling our obligations as Christian s and as citizen
- Endeavor to be soul winners for Christ

Good day class .Hope you’re really preparing for your exams. The Lord is your strength. I didn’t get any response from your end. Today, we will look at the topic justification by faith. (Roman’s 3:21-24,10:1-13)
Paul says that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.It was for this reason that Jesus came in to the world to restore man to his former status of union with God .It was therefore incumbent to man n to have faith in Jesus in order to become acceptable to God.. This acceptance without conditions is what Paul termed justification. By being justified, our sins are passed over because of the blood Jesus shed so that all who believe are redeemed. God’s righteousness is therefore proven to by this unconditional acceptance of repented sinners.
Fruits of justification
- Peace with God
2.Love of God
3.Sharing in the glory of God
4. Reconciliation with God
5. Freedom from the wrath of God
